Its seven professorships, over 50 staff members, and about 2000 students make the Department of English and American Studies one of the largest departments within the Humanities at Heinrich Heine University. Ranging from Linguistics, to Medieval and Modern Literatures (Modern English Literature, American Studies, Anglophone Literatures and Comparative Literature), our different areas of expertise enable you to explore and study the English language as well as its literatures and cultures in all of their fascinating dimensions and contexts.
