Students from the Department of Anglistik have recently taken on the role of mentors for local high school students as part of the inter-school debating program organized by the International English Library. This initiative, held in cooperation with the U.S. Consulate General Düsseldorf and the British Consulate Düsseldorf, offered students a unique chance to apply and expand the skills developed in their English studies.

The program culminates in a final debate on Saturday, 14 June, in the Plenarsaal of Düsseldorf City Hall. The topic:
"This House believes that only an increase of national debt will meet the economic and political challenges of today and tomorrow."
