Hey, I’m Anneke, and I graduated from HHU Düsseldorf in 2021 with a Master’s in Comparative Studies. I wrote my master’s thesis during full lockdown (yes, peak COVID times), was _this_ close to doing a PhD, and then explored a few different roles to figure out what I actually wanted.
Now I work in corporate communications at BASF — 100% remote, with just a few trips to Berlin a year. I’m part of the global campaign team, and I also run internal campaigns, like health awareness initiatives and other topics that matter for employees across the company.
If you’re curious what working in comms at a big company actually looks like, or how to go from “maybe a PhD?” to a full-time job — come to the alumni talk and let’s chat!

Hi, I’m Sirma, and I graduated from HHU Düsseldorf in 2021 with a Master’s in English Language and Literature.
I now work as an Employment Agent at the Bundesagentur für Arbeit helping people find new career paths. A friend encouraged me to apply, and it turned out to be a great fit.
Before that, I gained experience in various internships and student jobs — from banking to communications, in Germany and abroad.
My advice? Stay curious, be open, and don’t underestimate the power of a good conversation.
