If you have checked the entry requirements, you apply to the program via the aptitude assessment below. Applications are online only through the following links.

PLEASE NOTE THAT APPLICATIONS CAN BE SUBMITTED EARLIEST ON 1st MAY.

International candidates are invited to apply as early  to ensure that subsequent administrative steps can be taken on time. Apllying on time is vital to be admitted for study.

You will be asked to fill in your personal information and to upload the following documents as pdf files:

• scan of your Bachelor's diploma indicating the final grade
• academic writing sample (research paper/essay/BA thesis) on English or American literature and/or linguistics
• scan of your Transcript of Records, translated to English if necessary
• Motivation statement, indicating your intended study focus in either literary or cultural studies or linguistics
• Curriculum Vitae

                                                                                                                   Please note:

• When you write your grade in the application form, please give the exact grade or score (in numbers). Specifications like "excellent" or "good" are only accepted if your university uses this grading system exclusively. To avoid any errors, please include the grading system of your certificate.
• Documents in languages other than English or German have to be translated and certified.
• Since the assessment is online only, you don't need to send us any hard copies of your documents.

                                                            Information for students of HHU: Übergangsregelung von Bachelor zu Master

Um zum Masterstudium zugelassen zu werden, müssen folgende Voraussetzungen erfüllt sein:

• Bis zum 30. September des jeweiligen Jahres (Ende des Sommersemesters) müssen alle BN- und AP-Leistungen des Bachelorstudiums abgeschlossen und die Bachelorarbeit eingereicht sein.
• Es müssen noch nicht alle Noten vorliegen, jedoch müssen Sie eine aktuelle Leistungsübersicht hochladen.
• Als HHU-Absolvent*in der Anglistik/Amerikanistik müssen Sie sich auch über das Portal der Eignungsfeststellung bewerben.
