Dr. Malaka Shwaikh is an associate lecturer in peace and conflict studies at St. Andrews University. She specialises and has published widely in the fields of activism, translation, and politics of the Palestinian context. Recent publications include her article “Prison periods: bodily resistance to gendered control”, published in the Journal of Feminist Scholarship in 2022, and “Engendering hunger strikes: Palestinian women in Israeli prisons”, published in the British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies in 2020. On 2 June, 2022, she will offer an online-talk on the interfaces of translation and activism in the context of war.
