Guidelines for Writing a Term Paper

The guidelines only differ in their citation style. Please CHOOSE one of the following guidelines to write your research paper. DO NOT MIX STYLES AND STICK TO ONE GUIDELINE!


(1) In-text citation

Example:

In his famous and influential work On the Interpretation of Dreams, Sigmund Freud argues that dreams are the “royal road to the unconscious” (Freud 5).


(2) Citation in footnotes, source information at the bottom of the page (e.g. Chicago style)

Example:

In his famous and influential work On the Interpretation of Dreams, Sigmund Freud argues that dreams are the “royal road to the unconscious”.1
