My research interests include queer and feminist studies, intertextuality and reception studies, mythology and folklore as well as theories of popular culture and participation.

In my Master's thesis “No one should live in a closet” – Queer Rewritings and the Influence of Transformative Fanwork on the Harry Potter Franchise, I discussed the reciprocal relationship between fans and authors in contemporary popular fiction. My current dissertation project is concerned with retellings of Greek and Roman classics in queerfeminist literature and online communities.

In my classes, I teach various approaches to classic receptions and revisions in poetry, prose and film.
