11.02.19 "Journalism meets Literary Criticism": Podcasting the Contemporary Anglophone Novel

Lend us your ears! Cultural journalism represents one possible career for humanities graduates. In particular, podcasts are in demand at the moment. This seminar combined academic knowledge on Sam Selvon’s postcolonial classic "The Lonely Londoners" and its German translation with journalistic basics. Students were introduced to the principle of writing for the ear, dramaturgical elements and the role of the literary critic as an agent within the literary field. Then students were asked to write and produce a podcast on the novel or a novel of their choice. Here are some of the results: We thank Karin Monser at Tonstudio HHU for her support!
